I’ve been meaning to post this review for a few months now. I’ve been wearing athletic compression shirts since before Under Armour made it cool. I used to wear these Lycra material shirts that were originally designed to go out clubbing at night. They were tight fitting and made for muscle bound guys. One day during football practice in 40 degree weather I decided to wear one instead of a T-Shirt, since T-shirts would hold sweat and stink.

That was then, this is now. I’ve been through just about every type of compression shirt that’s made. I have several brands: Champion, Reebok, Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, and the list goes on. All are neatly folded in my clothes drawer, unused for many months. Why? Because of my KAOS Komfort Level 2 LS Top. That’s why!

This thing has got to be one of the most comfortable shirts, not just compression shirt, that I’ve worn in a long time. I’ve worn this thing for just about everything! And that is not an exaggeration. I’ve ran in my KAOS Komfort. I’ve done burpees. I’ve walked. I’ve lifted weights. I’ve just worn it to wear it. I’ve worn it to Wal-Mart. My KAOS has even been to play paintball with me. It’s truly a comfortable piece of clothing.

The type of KAOS I have is not the super type form fitting one, it’s a more loose fit. It’s extremely breathable. Ridiculously almost. It allows me to sweat as much as I want without overheating or feeling discomfort from a sweat-soaked shirt. There was one day when I wore my KAOS underneath a sweatshirt. I still felt comfort. When I received it I put it on right away and felt as if I was wearing some type of baby soft material. It’s almost unexplainable how it feels. It’s so soft and smooth that my 5 year old kid put it on and didn’t want to give it back because “it feels so comfy.” Her words, not mine. I’ve since washed the shirt several times and it continues to feel as smooth and comfortable as it did on day one.

One of the best things about it is that it doesn’t hold the funk. I purposely wore it for a week worth of workouts without washing it in-between sessions. Guess what? It didn’t get that sweat induced funk that other compression shirts are prone to getting after just one workout. That is a thumbs up for me. There is one thing that I found weird, but it’s nothing bad. When I first received the shirt, the new clothing smell it had was weird, nothing bad. Just weird. You can easily machine-wash it to get rid of the new shirt smell if it bothers you too much. I didn’t have to, since at the time I figured my sweat would stink up the shirt and mask the original weird scent. Which, as I described above, it didn’t.

The company was founded by former NFL wide receiver Bert Emanuel and his wife Teri. I think that his training experience lends itself very well to creating such a great product. I see this company as one of the top-tier compression clothing companies around. If they aren’t bought-out and absorbed by one of the other big name companies, I expect to see their name hit the mainstream soon.

I’ve got a product review for everyone today: Kaos Komfort.

I know the selection out there for athletic training and compression shirts is huge and you may not be sure of what to buy in order to wear for your training, so hopefully this post can point you in the right direction!

I was recently offered a shirt for a trial and I must say I am happy with it.

Kaos has many styles of Komfort shirts to choose from but I chose the Mens Kompression tee because I recently had to toss out one of my old compression shirts because it got ripped while training the Atlas Stones.

Why do I like my Kaos shirt?

It all comes down to the 3 F’s: Fit, Feel and comFort.

Fit – For once, someone has designed a shirt that will fit me. With a long torso and athletic build, I can almost never get a shirt like this to fit my entire torso. Usually, they pop up and roll up my belly, but the Kaos long sleeve Kompression tee did not do that. In fact, it has tails on it that allow me to tuck the thing in. Brilliant!

Feel – Obviously, since this is a Kompression tee, it is tight fitting. What usually accompanies this tight fit is hairs getting yanked out all over my body, BUT that doesn’t seem to happen with the Kaos Kompression.

comFort – The Kaos tee I have is soft and reminds me of the little draw string pouches you put a digital camera in. I plan on training the Atlas Stones a lot, and while they don’t always feel the best on your skin, these Kaos Kompression shirts feel just fine.

Check it out everybody, the Kaos company was nice enough to send me a complimentary shirt and I appreciate it because I wear this thing all the time.

But you know me – I’ll be honest if it is lacking something, but I haven’t found it yet in this case. This thing is sweet.

KAOS RFI Sports bra receives another thumbs up!

Supporting the “Girls”

And by “girls” I mean boobies. After all, keeping them comfortable and situated during exercise can be tricky—yet important—business, especially for our well-endowed sisters.

For a long time, I wasn’t overly concerned with sports bras other than making sure they covered my bits and kept said bits from bouncing too much. (I’m a B cup so never too much of a worry.) However, after logging lots of miles for a marathon, I’ve started to appreciate high-quality sports bras and notice differences between them and their low-quality competition. Unfortunately, like most things, quality comes with a price.

For the women’s RFI Sports Bra from KAOS Komfort, the $40 is pretty much worth it. KAOS Komfort sent us a bra to review, and I was pretty dang pleased with it. Chafing and irritation is non-existent and the girls STAY PUT (almost too put as the sides really dug in giving me a little spillage, but I have a wide chest, so maybe it’s just me). The shoulder straps were awesome, too, and very comfortable. The bra comes in black and white, and has a cute little cut-out in the back that I really liked. Not sure if it really kept me cool, but it felt like it did which is enough for me. If you really needs a bra that’ll perform for hard workouts or sports, this one is worth the price tag.

KAOS Komfort™ Converts Another Fitness Professional

I am REALLY impressed with the technology of the Kaos shirt. I wore the loose free flow short sleeve this morning during my evolution adult Parisi class (1 hour 15 minutes of agility, running, jumping, and alot of sweating) and it worked better than any shirt I’ve worn before. AND I have worn just about every Dri-Fit type of shirt made for man kind!

I really think this shirt won’t stink, even after wearing regularly for a couple of years.

KAOS wins new apparel contract from Army

KAOS Worldwide has been awarded a second multiyear contract by the United States Army for 100,000 advanced sports bras to be shipped to Army outposts across the world.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Stafford performance apparel company was awarded a five-year contract by the Army last year to supply about 20,000 pieces per month.

The KAOS RFI sports bras were selected by the Army’s Program Executive Office Rapid Fielding Initiative, which was created to ensure that soldiers are outfitted with the most advanced, technically superior apparel and equipment available.

The RFI sports bra incorporates advanced materials that wick sweat away from the skin and dry quickly.

KAOS’ latest Army contract was secured through a partnership with ADS Inc., the largest military distributor of technical products and equipment.
